Morocco to host 2018 edition of ‘African Women in Agriculture’ conference

US-based charity Believe In Africa (Day) has chosen the Moroccan city of Marrakech to host the second edition of its African Women In Agriculture (AWA) conference.

In a statement, Believe In Africa, the event will be held at the Museum Mohammed VI for Water Civilization in Marrakech from May 8 to May 10. It is supported by the Moroccan Agency for International Development, among other global development organisations.

Believe In Africa President Angelle Kwemo, said AWA seeks to promote Africa’s socio- economic progress by enhancing the profile of women in agriculture so that they can to poverty alleviation and development.

“AWA is a unique place to share best practices and promote success stories. We aim to take concrete actions and develop a roadmap for resource mobilization, training and optimization of production capacity, processing and marketing of agricultural products. ”

“AWA 2018 will be an opportunity to highlight the collective commitment of this network for the empowerment of African women, and above all allow participants to find investors and partners for the marketing of their products on the African and global market,” Kwemo said.

The AWA 2018 conference will cover agricultural sub-sectors that include crop farming, livestock farming, fish farming and agro-forestry.
