Italy to promote expertise in seeds greenhouse technology, irrigation in Ghana

Italian Trade Agency (ITA), Italy is set introduce its technologies and specialized companies in Ghana’s agribusiness value chain and to also transmit valuable know-how in the country.

The move comes amid Ghana’s aims to boost agricultural productivity to increase output and incomes, the need to deploy modern seeds, greenhouse and irrigation technologies is critical, as this will result in more efficient agriculture and help transform the entire sector.

Greenhouse farming is a thriving sector in Italy thanks to companies with decades of experience in providing cutting-edge greenhouse technologies and systems for the cultivation of horticultural products, including fruits and vegetables and flower crops.

Virtual B2B meeting

In furtherance of this, ITA will, on June 22, organise virtual B2B meetings between Italian and Ghanaian agribusiness companies under the Ghana-Italy Agribusiness Digital Lab project. The meetings will be hosted on a dedicated portal where interested Ghanaian agribusiness firms can register for participation.

Among the companies specializing in seeds, greenhouse technology and irrigation that will be participating in the virtual B2B session include; Berries & Breeding Molari, Greenhouses Idromeccanica Lucchini SPA, Irritec irrigation systems, Luigi Floridia, and Automated nurseries Urbinati S.r.l.

The above companies will showcase their expertise and technologies and explore potential business relationships with Ghanaian agro-related enterprises during the Ghana-Italy Agribusiness Digital Lab on June 22.
