MIXED PULSES IN SCOOP

What are pulses, you ask? Also known as legumes, they’re edible seeds of leguminous plants cultivated for food. Dried beans, lentils and peas are most commonly known & consumed types. Not only are pulses packed with nutrients & have a high protein content, pulses help farmers because they can sell them OR consume them, leading to household food security & creates economic stability.

Pulses have environmental benefits as well: They help reduce dependency on synthetic fertilizers because they’re nitrogen-fixing – which improves soil fertility, and when used for intercropping & cover crops, farmers can also promote farm & soil biodiversity.

Pulses are part of the planet’s rich variety of food sources and biodiversity. They’re also important to our health & can help fight climate change.
